Has anyone put grip tape on their pedals so their feet don’t slip off them? If so, how well has it worked? It seems like a cost effective way to get more out of a car.

I put it on the pedals in my Civic after the rubber covers wore through. It worked great, but degraded rapidly. Needed to be replaced by the end of the summer.

My Roush came with grip tape on aluminum pedals. Works a lot better than just rubber/plastic, especially when wet. Seems like a mod that’s worth the risk of a couple of bucks.

I imagine that it wouldn’t last very long on the brake pedal, if you like to pivot your foot for heel-and-toe. But I could see it being really helpful for driving with flat-bottom dress shoes.

I have it on one car. There’s a bit of a difference, but I don’t drive it enough for it to really count. Mugen makes pedals for most Hondas with a grippy substance on them that lasts longer than grip tape, and I have those on another car, but they’re very expensive.

Mugen pedal covers last longer, but you pay for it.

My Corvair had no rubber on the clutch and it had a really strong return on it. Grip tape worked great.

Just don’t put it on the one on the right!
